The bar is named after Nobel Peace Laureate, the Norwegian polar pioneer Fridtjof Nansen, and the café is named after explorer Roald Amundsen. As with MS Richard With, MS Kong Harald was launched in 1993 to mark Hurtigruten's centenary.
